    Is it bad Manners?

When you address someone verbally or in writing and get no response, What impression do you get?

Yes, I think it is bad manners.
Speaking to someone, verbally or in a written message,
deserves a reply. However, these days life moves as such a fast pace
and people are so busy and have so much on their minds that sometimes
good manners seem to go by the wayside.
Perhaps it is not always intentional but slips one's mind.

My thoughts exactly, oceanna. What also bothers me, is when someone is busy thinking of what they want to say, while they are pretending to listen to what I am saying. :pale:

I think good manners are now dying out with the older generation, I had an old gentleman a few months ago tip his hat as he said good morning to me on the opposite side of the road, when out walking the dogs in our village, that was so lovely I came home thinking yes this is how it used to be, there's not many gentlemen around like him any more unfortunately.

Oh dear! If this includes instant messages on yahoo or even emails I sometimes am slack in this area especially the emails. It can be as much as a week before I open all emails. And as admin in several places the admin email sometimes is neglected because I rarely sign in as admin until the need arrises.

So please forgive me if I neglect a message. For yahoo, some have told me they instant message me and I never receive the message. This could be because when I sign in to yahoo and leave my puter for a few mins the yahoo often cuts out on me therefore losing the messages.
