Busy Bees in my Tree Peonies

Post by islandgrl on Wed May 19, 2010 12:55 pm

My tree peonies are in different stages of budding and the bees love them. Here are a couple of pictures of them at work.

Here are a couple that didn't seem to attract many:

Islandgrl, I envy all your flowers and shrubs, they are beautiful,
and I'm glad there are lots of bees that like them too.

My garden seems to be doing better this year than in years past. Due to lime, fertilizer and bees. I see an over abundance of bees this year. I have lots of tomatoes that should begin to ripen in a couple of weeks, cucumbers already to pick, more beans than I had last year, yellow and zucchini squash. I am one happy camper. Hope to be able to can this year too.

The tree peonies have stopped flowering and I have deadheaded them. I think I will be doing a lot of digging in the Fall because all my perrenials need dividing.

Herbaceous peonies are in full bloom now so I will be posting a few of those later.
