    Do animals really mourn the passing of a companion/friend/relative? Sometimes animals are more compassionate than humans. Take a look and judge if this animal is in mourning.

    I think some animals, especially dogs, do mourn the
    passing of a companion or relative.
    Most dogs are compassionate friends.

    Yes, I do believe that animals can mourn, especially if they have had such a close bond with one another as these two obviously had. Some animals can become quite distraught, even if they're separated from their companions for a few days!

    I just witnessed the sad passing of a dog that had been separated from it's sister of 6 years. The dog simply decided to die and refused to eat until it suffered seizures and paralysis of it's left front leg. It then died.

    The other poor dog that was located in Indiana died shortly before her sister.

    So yes, humans don't give animals enough credit for having the same emotions and feelings as humans, but they do...
