Subject: Romancing the wind ( with 3 kites...)

    > If you're from Vancouver you'll recognize the location. If you're not but have always wanted to visit and maybe see a show like this, the location is just a few blocks from my place, out on Kits Point in Kitsilano, in Vanier Park that reaches out into the ocean where False Creek opens into English Bay and that experiences pretty steady winds when the water is cooler than the land. There are always kites being flown there but these flown by this expert are simply incredible. (I do think the guy should be wearing a shirt and should have for many years so he doesn't get carcinoma but that's another thing entirely.) Have a look and be amazed. And for a change the music actually works with the visuals. Tony ==================================
Ray Bethell, a resident of Vancouver, B C, is one of the most famous kite-flyers in the world.

He controls three kites in a ballet set to "The Flower Duet".....

    It is neat.....

I never realised that Giraffes were so athletically disposed......

    YES! GIRAFFES!

This is a very rare insight into the recreational habits of ( I'll say it again) the GIRAFFE!

    Subject: Giraffes high diving

Someone has a lot of time on their hands but also is so darn creative.....this is a hoot!!!

    Guards of the Night

Would love to have been in the audience.

What a museum did to attract visitors
The Rijksmuseum in Holland had an idea:
Let's bring the art to the people and then, hopefully,
they will come to see more - at the museum.
They took one painting of Rembrandt’s from 1642,
“Guards of the Night” and brought to life the characters in it,
placed them in a busy mall and the rest you can see for yourself!

.. And you thought you knew a bit about technology?

    Awesome power of Pile Drivers.

Pile Drivers - now totally professional:

Only a month after more than 1,100 Bangladeshi garment workers lost their lives in the collapse of a badly-built and poorly-maintained eight-storey building, the new building code

Has - thankfully - gone into force ... And its rigid practices are already being applied by highly-skilled and properly-trained construction teams, labouring in harmony on job-sites

    All across the sub-continent ...

    Waltzing Matilda - ABORIGINAL VERSION

Waltzing Matilda sung in Kriol, a mixture of local aboriginal dialect,

pigeon English and a smidgen of Chinese.
This is really good and entertaining.

Listen for the pronunciation of sheep.

    It is very catchy.

Now you need to supply the music, I'm sure you know the tune.....

Julie Andrews Turning 79 - this is hysterical!
To commemorate her birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City... Music Hall. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used: (Sing It!) - If you sing it out loud, it’s especially hysterical!!!

    All together..... SING....SING....

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
    When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
    When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

What a shower! Go back and do it again....
