    The Milkman cometh again!

    Looks like home delivery of Milk has been making a comeback in some areas of the U.S. Apparently it has gained in popularity for a number of reasons as per the following....

    Are you old enough to remember empty quart glass milk bottles left on your veranda or door step at night with a milk ticket stuck in the top that the milkman would exchange for full ones?

    In Winter the milk could freeze and about 2" of frozen milk would stick out of the top of the bottle with the cardboard cap on top

    I remember what were called "cream top bottles" You could order milk that was not homogenized and came in a bottle shaped to allow the cream that rose to the top to be spooned off for other use.

    Hi Wuz -
    I remember seeing those glass quart milk bottles but usually it was full ones left on my front porch in the morning. Occasionally I got a glimpse of the milkman in his truck quickly making his rounds on our street early in the morning. Here's an interesting video of a former milkman in his "restored" milk truck:
