    Package Free/Zero Waste Grocery Store?

    This may be "the" Grocery store of the future! Not sure if consumers are ready for this concept.

    It is a fantastic idea and the Bulk Barn is ahead of it's time. I agree that most items are over packaged to entice us.

    Something needs to be done about over-packaging, and refillable
    bottles or jugs for shampoo and detergents would be a start.
    Many containers are recylable but there is still a lot going to
    landfills.

    Although I shop at Bulk Barn I must admit I'm a little nervous about bulk food shopping in general after watching a Dr. Oz show some time ago. See attached and note Paragraph 2 - "Bin there, etc...

    I have been hearing about DR OZ but never watched him. All I can say is this, There is always a risk if we don't grow our own foods or know the people who do it for us. It is a guessing game on how it is grown, prepared, stored, etc. We don't truly know about what we buy.

    Cooking would destroy most of what (falls into a bin that) would make us sick. Oh well, what will be will be.
