    Zamfir

Post by Willows on Wed Sep 15, 2010 12:40 pm

    Quote from Wikipedia

"Gheorghe Zamfir (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈɡe̯orɡe zamˈfir]; born April 6, 1941) is a Romanian pan flute musician, one of the most famous pan flutist in the world, if not the most."

    So beautiful is his music!

    P.S. Wuzfuz......
I saw Jerry Lee Lewis on "The View" this week and although he has obviously aged...like the rest of us, he sang his new song as well as "Great Balls Of Fire" and he sound as great as ever! There sure was a big "stink" created over his marriage years ago...to a 14 year old girl. He was 21, which was a difference of 7 years...which to me, is no big deal! I guess that the problem was that she was just 14!!! and that she was his 2nd cousin. Well it all washed over, and apparently , they've done alright. In today's standards.....the talk may have been different, but maybe not...because the gal was just 14.

What a beautiful song "Goodbye To An Angel" to be played as a farewell. Thanks for sharing Wuzfuz.

Last night, watching the results of Dancing With The Stars, I was reminded of an exceptional artist....Ottis Redding.........

    Thanks Wuzfuz for the song.

Although it is 6 years on Friday I still think my love left me yesterday. Today our daughter and I went to place new flowers on his grave and those of his grandma, grandpa and mother. He is buried right beside his mother and some day I will be on the other side of him.

    Enjoy all! :)

I've loved Willie's music since the 60's, long before he became the red-headed, long haired rebel. Still do but wish he was still the unassuming bar singer that I remember fromthe 60's

I'm just a simple man. Lost and confused in this contradictory, complicated world of human nature and see no logic in much of it except in the sane world of friends in these forums.

Good tune and special words Wuzfu!

Here's Conway Twitty. What a great heart-wrenching song!!...yet watching the video as Conway is perched on his stool, unemotional and "aping" out the lyrics.... is such a contradiction to the emotions of the song.

Pity the gals who went there...and then hoped to find consolation in Conway's song.

Ughhhh!!!! that song you played...tore at my heart strings Wuzfuz!!!

Hopefully the younger generation will bring back music that touches one's heart as much as the music that we listened to during the years of Hank and Waylon and Loretta and Wynona and Johnny and Merle and Tammy and George and Kris and Willie and Kitty and Gene and Emmylou/Alyson/Dolly...Vince and Vern...Mel and so many other great artists from the past number of years. I wonder if the younger generation of today, feels or listens to country music with the same passion as we did with our generation of Country Music/Rock/Pop or whatever.... artists. I think not.

Gene Watson ~ I Never Go Around Mirrors
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP1YGp68A-E&feature=related

What is it about his and other music that is similar to his that makes my heart melt? It absolutely does. Listening to his or similar music truly not only enters my ears, but envelopes my soul.
Do others here feel music in a similar way?
Then there's music by Michael Boulten and Eva Cassidy and Allison Krauss...Johnny Reid.....all of a different genre that has a similar effect on me.....not to forget Julio...Andrea Bocelli....Il Divo...etc..........
So....it doesn't necessarily have to be country music, but there's something about a song or a melody or the magic that puts it all together...that absolutely captures my heart. It's a mystery and it's bewildering!

Awwwww...music stirs the heart and sometimes....it wraps itself around you.
